I was born in the
the capital of Laos in 1974. My mother a gorgeous 19 year old
from the city who was a model up til age 35 and my dad was in
the army who grew up in the country his whole life. Shortly
after they married they had me and in 1975 we moved to the
states. My mother barely spoke english. My father had been to
the states a few times for school. We were sponsered by a family
thru the church. So young and so naive we embarked on a new
journey and with only $20 to our names. When I turned 12, my
parents divorced. I was devastated because I was the ultimate "daddy's
girl". I guess now looking back it probably had a lot to do with
my rebellion. I always strived to go against the norm. Not your
typical teenager, I often wore black, listening to bands like
Depeche Mode or The Cure and spent most of my nights
drawing, writing poetry or hanging out with the skater and punk
kids in school. I was always getting in to some trouble. I can
definelty say that I was grounded my whole teenage life! Even
though I was mostly quiet, I was very active in theater in
school. You would never catch me on the cheerleading squad or
had a line of guys asking me to the prom. Back then guys didn't
want to date me. I had a lot of guy friends but none ever wanted
to go out with me. After high school, I was very active in the
straight-edge hardcore movement. A vegetarian and an active
memeber of PETA. I put on benefits that raised money to donate
to animal rights. Later that year when I turned 18, I moved to
New York and my whole life would never be the same.... I
discovered the New York club/rave scene. I was in love! I lived
my life and worked just to party. At this time of my life was
when I got colorful of my hair. Displaying colors from sunflower
yellow to hot pink hair and peicings from my nipples to my
labret. I can say that the friends I met in New York I still
hold so dear to me and I can say that having grown up in
Virginia I had never met true friends like those. LOVE YOU GUYS!
Loved New York, but I got terribly
home
sick and moved back within a year. I can say that after the move
back was the roughest years of my life. I had a terrible
relationship with my mother and my step father and was thrown
out and was forced to hop from diffrent places just to have a
place to sleep and shower. I had fallen in love for the first
time and suffered the worst heartbreak ever. At that time of my
life I had really gotten into graffiti and was arrested a few
times for tagging buildings and freights. LOL- don't try that at
home!
By 22, I had grown out of my adolescenes behavior and started to
get my life on track. When I was little I would dream about how
it would be life to be a famous model. But growing up there was
not much of a demand for asian models. One day i was in a CVS
buying tampons a friend of a agent in town was looking for an
asian model. So she set me up with an appointment and I was
signed immediatly. She sent me out on my first audition for a
commercial with speaking parts and I got the part and the rest
is history., In 97 I filmed a Dave Matthews video and have done
runway for top designers like Zang Toi and Mossimo with models
like Boris Kodjoe & Joel West. Orginally I was not hired for the
job for Zang Toi but apparently I was a quick replacement for
Tyra Banks. I took a 2 year leave from modeling to concentrate
on my love for cars. I worked at a Honda salvage yard selling
parts online. This job helped strengthen my knowledge about cars
and not just Honda's. This is how I got into the whole import
scene. I used to take my 1.8 LS Civic hatchback to the race
track and run it at various races. It wasnt until I went to my
first Hot Import Nights in 2001, that I absolutly fell in love
with the import scene. But at this time modeling was far from my
mind, I was more intersted in building my new Integra ready for
the next race season. In the spring of 2001, A friend of mine
owned a shop and asked me to work the booth. This was when I
reliezed that this could be something fun to do. Although this
is not my main profession I don't ever plan for it to be.
Currently I am accounting manager for my step fathers
multi-million dollar corportation, it's also not my passion in
life. My passion is into producing my songs. I love music and
the best way that I can express myself is thru music. I love to
sing. Music seems to always set the mood. My goal is not to be
famous and strive my whole life to get signed to an record
company. If i can just go to a club and see people move to my
songs and enjoy them is enough fullfilment for me and at the end
of the day be proud with what I have produced is enough for me!
Eventually I want to go back to school and develope my skills in
graphics design or digital imaging if modeling works out then
that's great but I'm not like some models that don't do anything
but model, what they don't know is that your 15 minutes of fame
is up quick and you always need a back up plan. A lot of you ask
what my hobbies are well a lot of other girls say shopping but
to tell you the truth I HATE shopping, my hobbies are working on
my website or my music. I also have a small collection of import
car
models that I have put together, being the import lover i am I
only collect imports. =P I also love cooking and find relaxation
in cleaning. HAHHA! It's true!! Anyways so you now you know a
little about me now,
A typical day for me: Wake up at 6:45am show and get ready for
work From 8-5 I'm at work slaving away for the man. I normally
go
home
for lunch and watch my favorite soap, Days of our lives. At 5pm
I leave and go hang out with my boyfriend, Sean... yes i have a
boyfriend =) sorry fella. The exciting life of a model.....NEXT
